The people of the Gulf South are a resilient bunch - living in harmony with the sea for centuries. But from time to time the balance has been thrown as it was on August 27, 2020, when one of the most powerful storms in our region's history made landfall.
The damage caused by Hurricane Laura will be dealt with over many weeks and months to come. As neighbors, colleagues, and family members, we feel called to contribute to the long rebuilding process, and we hope our fellow brewers will join us in this effort.
Coastal Harmony Double IPA represents the juxtaposition of our region. We exist with the ebb and flow of our coastal environment, yet are at the mercy of mother nature and a rapidly changing climate. Urban South calls on fellow brewers to brew their take on this bold Double IPA with proceeds going to the Urban South Coastal Harmony Fund, managed by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Funds will be directed rapidly to organizations on the ground doing hurricane relief work in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana as well as the long-term work of rebuilding our coast and fighting climate change.
